As the nights draw in it’s more and more important to have a way of getting your exercise in without having to go out and brave the British winter. Perhaps even more important, if you have a shiny new Wii U under your telly, is having a way to really get to grips with your new console and see what it can do.
Ubisoft is pretty big on supporting new hardware, so Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2013 is firmly planted among the new Nintendo machine’s launch title. Indeed, if you’re an early adopter this is the only serious fitness game for you to pick up, and since Wii Fit getting a workout in your living room has been an important part of the Nintendo experience.
The software builds on the games of previous years with a massive 125 different workouts and 215 distinct moves for you to try your hand (or foot, or stomach) at. Whether your goal is to improve your cardio performance, build strength, increase your flexibility or simply relax, you’ll find ways to achieve it with Your Shape.
You can set yourself a programme lasting up to four weeks, customising it to match your own goals, scheduling and fitness level.
The game also puts the Wii U’s online features to the test, with friend challenges, a news feed, online leaderboards and challenges and the option to check your stats wherever you happen to be.
As if that wasn’t enough, the game also comes complete with 150 recipes to help you balance that all-important nutrition, as well as a Dance Mode to help you have fun while you get fit.
If you needed and excuse to indulge in a new hardware purchase, Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2013 gives you one!
